EVENTS: Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving Day or Turkey Day is a nice opportunity to show how lucky we are having family, friends, health, food, a place to live, pets...

Today we have learnt that every year, the fourth Thursday in November, people in the US celebrate this festivity.

Now we know what do they have for dinner:

We have seen their nice parades:

And we have met the luckiest turkey today:

I hope you have enjoyed this special day!

did you know? bones

We know that the smallest bone in our body is one of the three small bones in our middle ear.
It is the one in contact with the cochlea, it is called stapes or stirrup (estribo in Spanish, as when we ride a horse!)

And the longest bone is in our leg, it is called femur.

Did you know that the only bone that is not attached to another thanks to a joint is in our throat?
It is called hyoid bone.

Our body is amazing!

unit 3: locomotor system

We are learning about our body. Thanks to our locomotor system we can move.
Remember that we have: bones, muscles and joints.

 Bones have two functions:

      - to hold our body

      - to protect delicate organs

There are long, short and flat bones.

In these pages there is interesting information:

Let's chek it here!

And here!

Taking x-rays we can see bones.

Helping us with pronounciation.

If you have one of this at home, ask your parents if you can bring it to school.

We want to meet your bones!

Look! Alberto has sent me this calligram (caligrama in Spanish).
This is when you use words to do a drawing.

What is this drawing?
Can you read the name of the different bones?
It is very nice! I love it!

We can try to do this technique in Arts&Craft
Do you want to try it?

Goodbye! See you in Canada!

We have had for a long time this suitcase from "Canada". We have been very lucky because it was full of stories and books...
Let see if next year we receive a new one!
Cross your fingers!
