Did you know? Incubation

To incubate is to keep eggs warm.
Here you are going to see how emperor penguins do that.
Who goes fishing and who stays keeping the egg warm?



Birds incubate their eggs, and now you are going to see the process a chick follows:

 Here it is the female incubating the eggs.


 

Inside of them chicks are slowly developing. They need 21 or 28 days.




This chick is hatching from the egg. That is a big effort!



But the natural way of incubation is not the only one.



Eggs can be incubated in an artificial way too!
